The general courses are something. I started college in 2018 at RCTC; in fact, it is my first year at RCTC, and I’m here to take my two years of general courses before I transfer. Today, I will talk about the courses I have to take and learn about the courses next year. first off, the requirement for Minnesota Transfer general education is 34 credits in Engineering Broad Field. I need to complete at least 30 credits one course each in 6th of the 10th goals. The first only requires English 1117 reading and Writing Critical I, and this is the project I’m doing for English 1117. In most of the goals, I think this course is gotta be the very first-course student will finish in the first year or even high school students can get this class done as well. As for me, I had to take English 950 before taking English 1117 but it is was a fun class. The second goal didn’t list in Engineering Broad Field since I think it is not something that an Engineer need. Moving next is goal three, goal three is Natural Sciences, it has 3 classes and 14 credits. The classes include chem 1127 ( 4 credits ), physic 1127 ( 5 credits ), and physic 1128 ( 5 credits ). A reminder again is that I only need to take one of these three classes, I’m currently taking chem 1127, and I’ll be done with my 3rd goal as well. Goal four, Mathematics/ logical reasoning 10 Credits. This is a very important goal for any engineering since engineers require lots of maths. There are two courses listed in goal 4, math 1127 calculus I, and 1128 calculus II. I haven’t taken any of these classes yet, and sadly I need to finish the math I’m taking right now which is college algebra, then I need to take precalculus before taking math 1127 calculus 1127. However, there is no need to worry, I already have a plan to finish both of them next year. Goal five is about history, social, and behavioral science 3 credits. There aren’t any specific courses I need to take but I can choose any of the course in goal 5 and there are lots of classes to choose from in this goal five. For example; Economics, histories, laws, psychology and many more. My plan is to take psychology or history in this goal five. Goal six humanities – the arts, literature, and philosophy 3 credits. Goal six is like goal five, so I need to take one of the courses they listed in goal six, and these courses include art, design, painting, dance and many more. I think I will take drawing for my goal six since I quite like drawing and I think this is somehow helping me in my future career. These are the six goals that I need to take in my two years general at RCTC. Just one more thing, for the classes I need to take for my engineer field, even those I only need to take one in each goal in order to get the transfer, but it is good to take the others that listed because I will eventually have to take them anyway like goal number four.
