Reading like a writer: I agree with the author point of view as ” filtering in the blogging community occurs after the act of publishing guaranteer that one’s work is always available for reading even if it is not actually widely read “. What I think from the author writing this is that everybody should be able to have an essential to any blogs. Those blogs may not be widely known or read, but they could be very useful for someone who spends so much time trying to find one of those blogs. They probably don’t have a lot of followers or don’t have a community to support them. I also see fairness from the quote of the author. I like to put this in a real-world example, the adults are the people who have the power, who take controls of things, but over time, they will eventually get older, and won’t be able to do things as well as before anymore, so let the youngers take over and do a better job.
Key terms:
Blogosphere – personal websites and blogs collectively ( N ). The instant electronic production and consumption of texts that have given rise to the blogosphere because of the hypertext and the web; bloggers have the ability to provide their readers with one-click access to the information upon which they are basing their opinion on.
Community – A group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common. ( N )
Abandoned – having been deserted or cast off ( adj ). Two-thirds of public weblogs created via centralized hosting services have not been updated in two months. furthermore, they posted one and never been touch again.
Filtering community – process or assess in order to eject those that are unwanted (V). with so many people being able to publish so much content for such little investment, filtering is essential for an individual wanting to make sense of the decentralized simple of blogs because of that filters must act to promote stories and posts that represent the more common interest of the larger community.
Audience – the assembled spectators or listeners at a public event, such as a play, movie, concert, or meeting (N). The audience is a very important part of the blogosphere, they act as reader or consumers and bloggers should be able to set the audience as worldwide.
Analysis: A study by the Pew Internet and American Life Project found that only about 10% of American bloggers update their sites daily and 60% update their blogs 1-2 times per week or less (Lenhart, Horrigan, & Fallows, 2004). As I can see, 10% here for me are the people who post every day and they are either companies or people who post about their daily life. For me, I think that there is one useful and the others aren’t so much as useful. It is clear that the one with companies is more useful, companies are like the newsparer company, advertisement, etc. They are really useful because the information will spread very quick those these companies if there is something going on. The other one isn’t so useful, but they not posting for information worldwide, they basically have a conversation with their friends without realizing that this is worldwide.
