Read like a writer note: “End a paragraph with a quotation”. The author opinion about ending a paragraph with a quotation isn’t a good idea, the author explained: ” it would feel like we are reading something that is really interesting, then it suddenly stops “. the author also gave an example, when a girl is dating with Spiderman, and he said something really interesting, then suddenly he hears something and disappears instantly. I strongly agree with the author about this point of view; ending a paragraph with a quotation isn’t the best idea because I feel like a quotation need an explanation about it, and yes sometimes writers explain about the quote before putting it down, or the quote explains itself already, but it doesn’t feel right to end the paragraph with a quote because it doesn’t feel like it can stop, there is something that is missing. For me, instead of end it with a quote, we can write something that would lead to the next piece of writing or a conclusion that sum up everything that we had in that paragraph.
Analysis: Peer review is a good way to improve our papers. The benefits of peer review are fewer mistakes and readers expectations. Letting a classmate, a family member or a teacher help a lot at lower the mistakes that we made while writing that Grammarly didn’t catch, and not just fixing the mistakes, but they will help us replace those mistakes into something more awesome. We also will know what the readers’ expectations are, we will able to know what they like or don’t like about our writing or if we should keep this or delete that, and as a writer this is really important because writers write for readers to read and if we able to know what they are expecting from our writings it would really benefit the writers because they already know what the readers want. Somehow this really fixes from the statement the author made in the first paragraph, the author stated that ” readers and writers don’t always see eye to eye on the same text “. I think this statement works perfectly; what the writer thinks is different from what the readers think but if both the readers and the writers work together, they would create a perfect piece of writing.
Commentary: The one thing that stands out the most for me was every time that the author uses his/her student’s writings, the author did ( The Fix ) and I really like how the author did that. Because for me, it helped me noted the mistakes that they made in their writings because the examples the author put in the article are the same or better from what I can do with my writing skill so when I read those examples I don’t really note the mistakes but the author made it visible for me now. The author then fixes those writing and rewrite it in a better way. It’s not just showing me the mistakes in those examples but also let me see the difference between two difference writings, and taught me how to make it better as well.
